No rule changes this year. Just twelve people trying to win a fantasy football championship, most of them failing, and Andrew Vinz winning his third title.
Andrew Vinz beat Matthew Beyer 124.6-101.16 in the championship as the 5-seed, because Andrew Vinz has made a career out of being irrelevant in October and dangerous in December. Three championships now, two of them as a seed that should've been sent home earlier. The bracket loves Andrew Vinz in a way that cannot be explained by statistics alone.
Matthew Beyer led the entire league in scoring with 1,807 points. He finished runner-up. Again. Matthew Beyer has now led the league or nearly led it in scoring in multiple seasons and has exactly two championship rings to show for it, despite clearly being one of the best teams in the league year after year. At some point this becomes less bad luck and more a personality trait.
Ryan Wingerson went 11-3, won the regular season title, scored 1,726 points, and finished 5th. This entry writes itself at this point. Ryan's shelf of regular season trophies is getting crowded. His championship shelf remains roomy.
Wesley Hoops went 10-4 as the 2-seed, finished 6th. Jeft Cavey went 6-8 and finished 3rd, winning a consolation game over Bernard Lynn by 1.7 points in what was the closest game of the entire season after the regular season ended.
Phillip Redenius finished last at 3-11 and absorbed the season's biggest blowout, a 159.3-60.4 shellacking from Alex Benedict in Week 14. Ninety-nine points. Alex Benedict beat Phillip Redenius by a number that should come with an apology. Phillip gets to plan the banquet, again, which is the most consistent thing about his career in this league.
